The General Council of the UCBSA would like to congratulate Goolam Rajah, Shaun Pollock, Graham Ford, Corrie van Zyl and the South African national cricket team on their fine performances over the past few months - including winning the Godrej Singapore Challenge 2000 today.
The Council, which met this morning, emphasised that the team's performances over the past months have been nothing short of remarkable, given the difficult circumstances surrounding the team and under which Shaun Pollock assumed the captaincy. The team has shown courage and determination and managed to remain focused through a very trying time while they were on tour.
South African cricket fans can be proud of their team and manner in which they have conducted themselves.
