Durham's second overseas player, Dewald Pretorius, has been picked for the
South Africa A tour of Australia.
The South African A side will depart on 30th March for a tour of Australia.
They will play six one day matches and two 3-day matches against Australia
A. The selection means Dewald will miss the first Frizzell County
Championship game of the season, but will hopefully be available for the
first National League game.
Dewald's selection follows a long line of Durham's overseas players who have
gone on to play for their country, including Simon Katich, Bradley Hodge and
Martin Love.
Durham County Cricket Club Chief Executive, David Harker said: "We are
obviously delighted that Dewald has been selected for South Africa A. There
seems to be a pattern of overseas professionals who after signing for Durham
have gone on to represent their country."
"We are disappointed that Dewald will miss the start of the season, but the
signing of Indian World Cup star Javagal Srinath as cover for Martin Love
for the beginning of the season reinforces our bowling attack."
