Former Indian captain Mohammed Azharuddin has decided to challenge in court the life ban slapped on him by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
"He will move the court. But it is yet to be decided whether he will go to the Andhra Pradesh High Court or the district court", his counsel and former Union Law Minister HR Bhardwaj said in New Delhi on Wednesday night. He said Azharuddin's legal advisors were working out the details.
There were also indications that another former India captain Ajay Jadeja too was working towards moving the court against the five-year ban imposed on him by the board.
Meanwhile, Manoj Prabhakar said that he would first appeal to the BCCI against the five-year ban imposed on him. "If I fail to get justice there, I will knock at the court's door", he said.
Prolific Delhi batsman Ajay Sharma, who has been slapped with a life ban by the board was not available.
The BCCI had on December 5 banned Azharuddin and Ajay Sharma for life and handed out five-year suspensions from all cricket related activities to Jadeja, Prabhakar along with former physiotherapist Ali Irani.
